Members should check with the Dock Manager for compliance with these policies. The designee has the authority to determine appropriateness and location of motorized boats based on type, weight length, draft and beam limitations, given depth of lake, dock capacity and these regulations.
Boat, Dock, and Trailer Policies
Dock Use
- Dock space will be assigned on a seniority basis, effective 12/31/2018. Seniority is the length of time a Member has paid the Annual Boat Fee, and is not related to the boat itself.
- Boat owners will be offered the dock space location they utilized the previous year, assuming the boat owner pays the annual Boat Fee. Failure to maintain a continuous Boat Fee will result in the loss of the dock space location. If the boat owner pays the Boat Fee in a subsequent year, the boat owner will be added to the established waiting list. (See Addendum).
- If a boat owner purchases a new/replacement boat, assuming the new/replacement boat is of similar size, the new/replacement boat will be entitled to the same dock space location that the boat owner had previously used.
- Should a boat owner relinquish his/her dock space location, or should AALSIA expand the number of dock spaces in the future, the available dock space(s)/location(s) will be filled based on seniority. Boat owners with existing dock space locations would be offered first rights to change their dock space location, then the remaining dock space(s) would be offered to the boat owner at the top of the established waiting list.
- For a boat owner to be added to the waiting list, they must provide a letter to the Board of Directors requesting a dock space location. If at any point the boat owner decides that they no longer desire a dock space location, they are asked to notify the Board of Directors, so they can be removed from the waiting list.
- To remain on the waiting list the boat owner must continuously pay the annual boat fees. Failure to do so will result in removal from the waiting list.
- While on the waiting list the boat owner may utilize a mooring but is not required to keep the boat in the water.
- At no point can a Member have more than one boat on the dock or waiting list. In this event, an application for an additional spot will not be accepted.
- Snubbers are required for boats utilizing the dock to absorb shock.
- Boat owners will be responsible for using correct bumpers, hardware, etc. as determined by the Operations Manager for motorized vessels.
Mooring Assignments
- Mooring space will be assigned on a seniority basis, effective 12/31/218. Seniority is the length of time a Member has paid the Annual Boat Fee, and is not related to the boat itself.
- Boat owners will be offered the mooring location they utilized the previous year, assuming the boat owner pays the annual Boat Fee. Failure to maintain a continuous Boat Fee could result in the loss of the mooring location.
- A mooring location is based on the number of continuous years an individual(s) has had a mooring or dock space.
- Should a boat owner relinquish the mooring location, the open location will be filled based on seniority. Boat owners with existing mooring locations would be offered first rights to change their mooring location, then the remaining mooring location would be offered to the boat owner at the top of the established waiting list.
- Boat owners may store their boat on an available mooring while they are on the waiting list for a dock space.
- Boat owners are responsible for building and maintaining their mooring.
- Boat owners are responsible for any and all damage caused by their boat, to include but not limited to, the Associations docks and other Members boats.
- In the event there is not enough space for additional boats on moorings, a waiting list will be established and will follow the same policy procedure as established for the docks.

PROTECT OUR LAKE
Access to Lake Attitash is a special privilege that members of AALSIA enjoy. We can’t take the lake for granted. Fairly recently, the water quality deteriorated to such an extent that no one could swim. Fortunately another nonprofit: The Lake Attitash Association worked diligently to restore the lake to its currently high quality standard, and to maintain it. AALSIA supports the efforts of Lake Attitash Association, and encourages members to read and comply with its recommendations for keeping our lake clean. Google lakeattitash.org to learn more about what you can do to help.
